Bravo Dietz & team! MIR Pro 3D is a brilliant, utterly masterful achievement. And kudos as well to the superlative support who have labored over this release and who fixed the initial AU3 hiccup in VE Pro before anyone barely noticed.
You have catapulted us all into deep space. The immersive experience will inevitably lead to more dramatic recordings. It will be fascinating to see how the creatives in this community will evolve their works in new – three dimensional – directions.
One question: is there a best way to convert previous MIR Pro stereo projects to MIR Pro 3D Surround projects? I work from Logic and the VEP AU3 plugin to VEP Server on another Mac (both Intel) – all projects have loaded flawlessly - but have had hit and miss success to convert copies of these stereo projects to SS 3D.
I understand the caveat of having to start in a Surround environment, but is there a best way to make the conversion, ie. decouple the server, reconfigure Logic for Surround and binaural monitoring, etc. I can’t figure out when it works and when it fails to the point where the 5.1 option is no longer available in the VEP plugin (AU3 in my case) and I have to rebuild the project.
