I just noticed today that when starting up the current Synchron Player 1.2.112, it seems to take anywhere from 40 seconds to a minute to load up under Windows 11. However, previous versions use to load up much quicker. I do have most of the Synchron libraries, but they are already correctly listed in the Database under Volume Scan paths. In fact I even tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling after trashing all related preferences and rebuilding form scratch. Doesn't seem to make a difference though. I can't try any older versions either because the Synchron Assistant says there are no older version to roll back to. I'm running Vienna libraies from an internal SSD drive. In fact I tried it from (2) different internal SSD Drives. Worked the same with both.

SYnchron Player Load Times

I'm actually using a brand new Dell Precision Workstation 12-Core, 3.5 GHz base speed, including 128 GB memory and 14 TB of internal storage. Also have an RME 802 interface connected. Once the Synchron Player opens up, everything seems to load and work fine, but the app itself takes a long time to startup each time. As mentioned, I have installed in the Vienna folder most of the Synchron series libraries. If I remove them all form the database, the app starts up in a few seconds. After adding each one back into the database, it takes a long time again. Tried loading them from (2) different internal Samsung EVO Pro SSD's (also new). I dont's remember this form previsous versions, but was told that version 1.2.112 is the first version for iLok so it can't be rolled back to a previous one.

Yes, something has to be up with the software. VSL said they will report it to engineering. Tonight I uninstalled Synchron player & all preferences. Re-installed the app, rebuilt the database, and tried loading off a third new internal drive. Same results again. If no libraries are in the database, the app loads up in 2-3 seconds. As soon as you add 1 or 2 Synchron libraries, the load time increases to at least 30 seconds or more. Since I've installed the software multiple times, erased all preferences, and loaded off multiple drives, there is nothing else to troubleshoot at this point.

Although I was told that this was the first version for iLok which is why is shows no Rollbacks, it actually can;t be because I was using Synchron Player with the iLok key since it was released and it was working fine up untill this latest version. I can verify that it did not work like this before. I don't know which version I was using at prior to this, but it was working with iLok, and it was not 1.2.112. I've already trashed all preferences and re-installed the app a half dozen times, but nothing is fixing it. In fact, since I've had the computer system, I never had the eLicenser key plugged into it, only the iLok.

I finally received the older version v1.2.105 and installed it. After installing last week and adding my Synchron libraries to it, it was opening up in around 4-5 seconds. Then the other day after using it for a week and opening up many libraries, I clocked it at around 17 seconds to load. Now today, it is taking 36-37 seconds to load. Keep in mind that absolutely no new libraries have been added to the database.
So I just downloaded the latest version 1.2.123 and added the libraries. upon reopening it took around 36 seconds again to load, however, then immediately crashed.
I then uninstalled 1.2.123 and reinstalled 1.2.105. It was taking around the same amount of time to open (36 sec). I then uninstalled and reinstalled the iLok software (same version (5.5.2), and all of a sudden Synchron Player was opening quickly again (approx. 4 sec) . I will have to continue to use and see what happens, but it definitely seems to have to do something with iLok protection (which was recently confirmed). I just can't figure out why it would start off loading quickly, and then slow down again after days/weeks of use (especially if no new libraries have been added since.

Still no word on a fix for this issue? It's still present in the latest SP 1.2.124. As mentioned previously, if you reinstall the iLok software, it then loads quickly at first (usually about 3-4 seconds) but then gets longer the load time as you use it it seems. Haven't seen any iLok software updates in a long time either.

Same issue here
(Windows 11 - Cubase )
Before I switch to Ilok it took 3-4 seconds to add a Synchron player or Synchron Piano or Synchron harp
Now it takes more than 30seconds
I didn't manage to resolve anything yet
Have a good day

Just wanted to add that I've seen this phenomenon also.
Today I was attempting to open a Reaper project containing the Vienna Synchron Pianos. After more than five minutes of Reaper indicating that it was loading VS Pianos, I gave up. Tried restarting, re-booting, etc., to no avail.
I saw this thread, then uninstalled and re-installed the iLok License Manager. Vienna Synchron Pianos (and the rest of the project) loaded promptly.
I'm very happy to see this is being worked on.

Eventhough this thread does not seem to get a lot of replies anymore, I just wanted to drop in and state this is still a problem with the Synchron Player in v1.3.636, and has been ever since I moved from using ViennaKey/eLicenser to iLok.
Literally every time I open a Synchron Player based instrument it takes 4-5 seconds to open the GUI, and even longer when I load an instrument preset. Mixer presets are much faster.
This was not happening before, with the older eLicenser Synchron Player as far as I remember.

Hi all,
I wonder if you've updated the Synchron Player to the latest version 1.3.810 already. If not I strongly advice you to do so. I also found the Synchron Player a bit "sluggish" since a month or so. By no means as serious as your experience. But still quit annoying. Yesterday a did the update and was very pleased with the outcome. An enormous improvement. Big compliments to the VSL programmers! You guys really rock! I hope it'll work out for you as well.
Best:
Willem
