  • Activating Free Libraries in Synchron Player

If you just got the Synchron player and grabbed the free instrument libraries like I did, you may have run into the issue of the libraries not loading into the player, even after you've followed all of the instructions. Other posts in the forums tell you where to look for the libraries in Synchron, but not how to load them.

This is because there's a final step that's not at all made clear in the various sources of instructions regarding the matter; after you've linked your iLok account to your VSL Symphonic account, you have to manually activate each license for each library that you acquired.

    1. Open your iLok License Manager.
    2. Login.
    3. On the right side, you should see the VSL-S libraries. You'll notice on the very right of that list, under "Activations", your libraries may read "0 of 2 activations used" or something to that effect.
    4. On the lower right of the window, there should be a ">Show Details" button. Click it.
    5. Click on the library you wish to activate.
    6. Below the list of libraries, there is a details sub page. On the right side of the sub page is a list of actions, the top of which should read "Activate" next to a check-mark. Click on "Activate".
    7. Two more windows will open to verify your choice letting you know you'll be using up one of the activations. Hit OK and Confirm.
    8. Check the Libraries list; the Library in question should now read "1 of 2 Activations used."
    9. Repeat steps 3-8 for each library.

If you run into any other issues... well, that's what Forums and their support email is for. Shout out to VSL support for getting back to me within 24 hours of my email, it was especially nice to receive their very helpful response on a holiday here in the US.
