I've just recently changed the EQ, and it sounds much better...I'm working on making it a little more exciting.

I would say yes.

I also think the violin runs might be somewhat louder... AND that it is a good enough demo for any game compagny. I'm not very familiar with game scores except a few by Michael Giacchino and a few others...

The percussion sure sounds tasty, and the composition really builds well to the transition to the atmospheric second half.

I'm curious about the horn lines - I wonder if you'd mind revealing which patches you used - I can't tell if there are any inner harmonies going on.

Is it a full horn section or just a single say, Epic Horns patch.

Ok I fixed up the EQ a little, and tried making the Violin patch a little louder.

Whatever you are doing, it's working! Nice piece of music. The dynamics are a treat. I like the contrast between the pounding opening and the way it just lets you down nice and easy at the end. You are certaily ready for whatever you want to do.

Yea I really enjoyed the piece. Excellent groove. Is the groove original or loops? If its all your programing bravo.

A few suggestions: The ending is very subtle but it could also have some sublte dynamics. 2 bar <> hairpins for example would work well. The legato violins need the edit to them that increases the release time so you can cover up the akward transition sound. Very good mix otherwise. If you could make it a little more sparkly orchestration-wise - more ww's etc it would be nice also. For intance adding a flute and or picc an octave and or 2 octaves above the violins cool arpeggios it would make the sound brighter and more colorful. The key is getting the right mix so it sounds authentic but you seem to have that down. But thats just one idea, runs are also very cool.

Also, yes I agree with you on the orchestration.

I'm not exactly sure how to edit perf files to make the release longer. Only thing I can think of is to add a background Vln. sustain patch, but the Perf. will eventually drop out resulting in a loss of volume. I'll have to play around with it a bit [[:)]]. Thanks for comments magates.

Its pretty easy to do in giga studio editor but I don't know how its done in other samplers... There is a lot of topics on it in the forum.
