  • VEPro 7 startup

    Hi everyone,

I have a PC, 16 core, 256MB RAM (that is my max on this motherboard)-  2 years old PC

Now the only way i can load up VEPro7 instances quickly, if they are few of them 2,3 or 4 with fewer channels, the more i add the slower it gets to load up the whole session of VEPro7.

for instance, I have a template about 18 instances, some of them with 50 channels, and some at least 16 channels, this one takes about 60 minutes to 90 minutes to load,

Is there a way that I can improve this? because this is instance.

    Thanks

    -John

  • Hi John,

is more threads about this problem in the forum. I face to simmilar problem. Just for interest. Can you temporary exclude Vienna Instruments PRO instances for a while. I am really curious if the loading time decrease. I have done some investigation about this and I think this will help. Just for finding out the problem. Thank you

  • Hi Marek,

I just have Synchron player loading up, basically almost all Synchron package, no articulations.

if you are asking about the check box "load all cells in disabled stat" under Vienna instruments .. it is already checked, otherwise i'm not sure where do i find VI pro instances.

    Thanks.

    Hi John -

Have you tried adding all of the file types used to the exclusions list in Windows Security? I found on my PC that Windows was doing a realtime check for viruses etc on every file loaded(?) I think.

In Windows Security / Virus & Threat Protection / Exclusions I added the program VEPro and all file types I use (which includes .vivolume for VSL libraries) to the exclusions list and everything loads much, much faster.

Maybe try this if you haven't already. Probably need to do a restart after changing the settings(?).

    Hope that helps.

  • to be specific and share with everyone and to save your time.

I have 21 instances and 600 channels ( so you know what I'm loading - that is one template example)

    i did the following.

1- Exclusion list from all windows and virus scanners - I don't think that seemed to matter

2- Reduced in/out in setting Vepro, now i have 16 midi, 8 out and 8 in (used to be 32 in/out)

3- Disabled all channels at loading - that nails it, from 120 minutes loading to only 8 minutes loading time

but what is the point? when i try to play any sound then i have to enable channel and back to waiting again, of course the more i need to try sounds the more i'm going to wait.

this is not a solution, the more i need to more i wait, and the less i use the less i wait, just to be sarcastic, you won't have a virus if you just turn off your internet.

  • After keep playing with this, the only effective thing loading up with all instances "disabled",

now if i start enabling each one that I need the sound from it or I think I need, then I'm back to waiting again.

Is there a way that I can load up a template in enabled status which has all its instances saved disabled status previously?

or at least if I load up a template (pretty fast) with its instances are all disabled, can I have one click to enable all instances with its own channels in one shot? at least I won't need to click and wait .. click and wait .. just click and wait for all of them to enable them (that is of course when I have time).

    Thanks
