Oh my word! I just love being spoilt by VSL - there's no comparison! Thank you all at VSL for this magnificent and stunningly beautiful free gift.
Not being a pianist by any stretch of the imagination, for many, many years I've got by with various "cooking" piano sample libraries. I cannot do justice to a decent, proper, top quality sample library of a concert grand, so I've never bought one. Also, I make do with a Yamaha P-45 88 note MIDI keyboard.
But now I'm very proud and deeply satisfied to have at my disposal a - let's say - "very accessible" library derived from VSL's majestic Bösendorfer Imperial pro library. When listening to demos of VSL's various concert grand libraries I've always tended to gravitate to the richly interesting and very satisfying timbres of the Imperial. Now I have much of that beauty and finesse at my fingertips - for free! And what's more, it seems the Soft Imperial can sustain notes (in a dry mix) for about a week! lol - especially when encouraged by a decent compressor (I've been trying it out with P.A.'s digital model of the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor).
Fabulous job, VSL! Thanks again.
P.S. Also happy with the new 1-click 'purchase' for freebies.
Hi,
Thanks for the kind words, Macker, happy to see you thrilled 🎉
@Vagfilm: Yes, you can do that, your existing eLicenser licenses will keep on working.
You simply get converted iLok Licenses additionally, and it's not possible to mix the player platforms for iLok and eLicenser.
Best,
Paul
Dear VSL team, thank you so much for this beautiful sample set! This is so much more than just a demo for the full Imperial library. I am not a pianist, but have the (old) Vienna Imperial and (even though it is probably in there somewhere 😉) I never managed to get such a soft, rich sound out of it. What a source of inspiration 😊!
