Hello,
This is a mock-up of the famous Superman March by John Williams. It includes the Prologue at the beginning.
I started this in 2019. I'm uncertain how many man hours it has taken me but it must be around 700 or more.
It's my first big mock-up. Any advice about the mix would be really helpful.
I tried to stay faithful to the original recording as much as possible. I have the Superman March score, but could not find a score of the Prologue. I will admit to finding a MIDI file of this which included a rough version of the Prologue. However, it was so full of mistakes I only used it as a guide for the Prologue and used my ears to match it as much as I could. For the March/main title I worked from the score.
There is a concert version and a soundtrack version. The only difference is the Intro. I mocked up the soundtrack version and again, had to use my ears as I could not find a score for this version of the intro.
These are the libraries I used (all from VSL):
Synchron Woodwinds
Synchron-ized Woodwinds
Synchron Brass
Synchron Percussion I, II & III
Synchron Concert D-274 Grand Piano
Synchron Harp
Synchron Strings Pro
Additionally: VSL VI Orchestral Strings I & II Runs
Muted trumpets achieved with Sordina – A Muted Instrument Emulator by LIBREWAVE.
Kind regards,
Darren
