Problems with Payback in Finale after converting files to iLok

Hi! 

 

After converting my files to iLok, I’ve got problems with playback files from Finale, both in real time and as exporting as audio file. In real time when I start playback in a middle of a piece, the VEpro 7 does not keep up with the playback and the sounds hangs up. And if I export the piece as a sound file it makes Finale to crashes. 

These are new problems and has never occurred before, so I guess it has to do with the transitions to iLok, which is the only thing I’ve done recently since it worked. 
I've sent a mail to the support about this, but I'm curious to know if anyone else encountered the same problems?

I too have problems after converting to iLok and installing VE7 and VIpro. I get random key switches leading to the wrong sounds at the start of playback using the key switch dump library in Finale. This never happened before the upgrade so it must have something to do with it.

Your problem doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the transition to iLok.

Maybe you have Human Playback Preferences loaded that send keyswitches that don't fit. Please note that the Human Playback Preferences for our Special Editions will not work with the Symphonic Cube that you have registered.

Thanks for your reply. I'm definitely using the correct key switches (i.e. not special edition) and I have Human Playback turned off. To be clear, this is a Finale project that I have been working on for months (and the same basic template that I've used for years) with no issues regarding playback. 

The problem started as soon as I opened the project, having moved to iLok and installed VE7 and VIpro (upgrading from version 6.5 I think), and it converted to the new format. I haven't changed anything from the prior setup, so it would be odd it if wasn't connected to the new system or the conversion process.

Hello adan!

Vienna Instruments Pro (iLok) doesn't create keyswitches by itself. It also doesn't transform previously correct keyswitches into other keyswitches. The wrong keyswitches must come from somewhere else. If you are working with Finale, the keyswitches most likely come from your Finale project or from an external MIDI device.

If you can't find the reason in your Finale project, you can send it to support@vsl.co.at with a reference to this forum thread and I will take a look at it. Please allow a few days before I can inspect it.
