  • MIRx venue problem

After shift to iLOK the MIRx venue sounds awful in Vienna Instruments Pro in my DAW.

    Standalone version is OK

  • Welcome Jornkyd.

sorry to hear you're facing problems. A few more technical details would help us to solve the issue (OS, host, software versions, ....), as well as a description of the "awful sound" you're experiencing.

    TIA,

  • Thank you for your reply

I am working on macOS Big Sur (11.6.4)

My DAW is Cubase 12 PRO

I have Vienna Special Edition 1

When activating MIRx Berlin TeldexStudio I get a "buzzing" sound only, and the Cubase audio performance meter goes "crazy" (peaks to max)

Again, no problem in standalone version of Vienna Instruments Pro.

  • Thanks for the info. What is the sampling-rate you're working in, which audio-hardware do you use for playback, and what are its latency-settings? Is VST Guard activated in Cubase?

    /Dietz - Vienna Symphonic Library
  • Sample rate is 44.100 kHz

My audio hardware: Focusrite, Scarlett 2i2 USB

    VST Asio Guard is activated

I have always had my buffer size set to 128, which gives latency about 4.6

I have tried to set buffer size to 1024, which gives a latency of 26.5, Instruments Pro is better then.

But before the switch to iLOK there were no problems using Vienna Instruments Pro with the buffer size set to 128.

  • That's interesting. I'll make sure that VSL's developers take note of the issue.

  • VSL's development tried to reproduce the issue, but without comparable results. Still there will be an update soon that might optimise MIRx' behaviour with iLok-based copy protection. Please take note of the respective info in VSL's newsletter.

    Kind regards,
