  • Default (or saved) instance window layout

Whenever I load a DAW project the instance has it's GUI window closed and the automation map open. The automation mapping list is on top of and partially covers the GUI (after I manually open it) which makes this behaviour annoying.

I would like to see the VST's editor window (and do not wish to necessarily see Automation Mapping) by default or at least in the same state as when I saved the DAW project.

Is this possible? I have been use VEP7 for quite a while now and I can remember times in the past when the Plugin GUI was showing by default when I load the DAW project as well as when I switch to another instance by it's tab.

I hope I explained the situation well, and would really appreciate any help, thanks.

  • Has anyone noticed this?

Is the issue I've mentioned expected behaviour?

If not, wouldn't it be good for instrument tabs (instances) GUI to hold their state between DAW sessions?

  • I would really like to hear from Vienna Instruments on this..

When I load a project every instance tab has it's editor closed and it's automation mapping open.

I would like it to be the exact opposite or better still, simply remain in the same state as when the DAW project is saved.

    Am I doing something wrong?

(or) Is there are reason this is impossible?

  • Yes, I agree with you...The automation tab is always showing and I have to manually close it for all my instances when I load my server project template...I do remember a time (not quite sure when - I have been using VEPro since the beginning though) that this did not happen.  I would love the GUI to come back in the same state that it was saved in.

  • I have just discovered an easy way to remove the Automation Tab from ALL instances in one go - On the tool bar at the top there is an 'A' with three horizontal lines next to it - If you click on this, all the Automation Tabs disappear and come back if you click it again.

  • The "Show automation mapping (F5)" only applies to the current instance tab.

They could so easily add a preference for these issues, but don't. It's like they don't have software developers active.

It's disturbing when features that affect the daily lives of users are neglected in favour of keeping things as simple as possible for new users (which is where the revenue comes from...). Sad situation.
