Dear VSL-Team,
thanks for your great software!
I'm getting startet with VEP7 and trying to find a solution for connecting my Laptop (1.floor) to my PC (basement). Sadly I have not the opportunity to connect both PCs via ethernet because of the infrastructure, so my first try was to connect via WiFi. Astonishingly the latency was verry good, even with high buffer sizes, but of course there were drop-outs and crackles every 4 to 5 seconds
I'm not sure what exactly is the limiting factor here, but it seems, that it's a physical problem of the medium "air" instead of "copper-cable" or maybe the difference in network-communication (more technically speaking iso/osi layer 1&2)
So my question is, does it make sense (=gives me better results), if I try to use a modern powerline adaptor ( something like FRITZ!Powerline 1260E) to connect the PC in basement with my Router, and connect the laptop via ethernet with the router. Currently both connected vie WiFi
The last thread in this forum with the topic "powerline" that i found was from 2017. I think the technology has improved since then...
Any hints or experience in this area would be highly appreciated.
Kind regards from Munich,Germany
