    I am considering running a 5 computer network using VEP.

    Is it possible to use one monitor to easily manage 4 of those Windows (10 or 11) PCs?

    Ideally I would like one monitor dedicated to those 4 with a split-screen so that each computer has a quadrant on the screen.

    Comments/suggestions/ideas?

    Just use remote desktop. Each computer cam be in it's own window

    You'll need to be running Windows xx Pro on the satellite systems

    try looking at Multiplicity pro.  I will allow it in windows.  Nice app, but I do believe it will take some network bandwidth.  Not sure how much.

    I am a fan of MS Remote Desktop also, and that is what I use.  You can certainly setup multiple smaller Remote Desktop windows (but they don't automatically scale down or anything), or you can switch between them as needed...  I use MacOS for my primary DAW, and basically I just have my MS Remote Desktop session(s) on another "space" that I can switch to each one quickly and easily..I don't necessarily see all of them at once...

    There are, you should know, occasionally some bugs with VePro and Remote Desktop.  I can't remember details right now, but occasionally there are some weird things that happen which as far as I know have never really been solved, VSL generally will not recommend Remote Desktop anymore.  I had certain plugins...when hosted in VePro on a Remote Desktop session, the plugins would act weird.  I've heard theories about OpenGL and other things, but I'm not sure anyone really knows.  But....  MS Remote Desktop is the best performance by far for remote access to PC's.

    After that there are numerous other free alternatives to control remote computers, they all tend to use a pixel based protocol, so if you use a big resolution remotely...it will be laggy in how it responds, but works fine...and probably will not have the above OpenGL issues...

    Thanks for this info!  That looks very interesting and something I might look into also.  I especially like that it comes with the thumbnail view.  I wonder what tech it is using underneath to do the actual Remote Desktop connection.
