  • Realtime privilege priorities of VEPro comms vs IAC Bus?

While running Logic and (AU3) VEPro (local host) in the usual way, I also have Logic set up to transmit and receive a modest amount of MIDI data on about 48 different IAC Bus channels at various moments, going nowhere other than out of and straight back into Logic. No cabling outside of my computer is involved in this.

What I'd like to know if possible from VSL is this: in general, what realtime privilege priorities are given to (AU3)VEPro/Logic comms link processes, and to IAC Bus Tx and Rx processes, respectively?

It has occured to me that I may have to alter certain things I have in Logic's Environment in order to take best advantage of macOS's handling of these comms links, or at the very least to avoid or minimise worst-case situations. But I'm completely stuck on this because I have no idea of the relative priorities of the macOS comms processes involved.

I'm using the latest versions of Logic and VEPro in the latest Big Sur, on a 2017 iMac with a 7700K CPU.

Any information on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

    [UPDATE]

It appears macOS Terminal will let me see process priorities and in some cases change them, but that's mostly only for "super-users", which I certainly ain't. So here's another fine mess I've gotten myself into, lolol.

Would still greatly appreciate any info, VSL.
