    Hi everyone!

I regularly check this forum and keep discovering your many amazing pieces that often show such a great talent and a hard work!

This time, I dared to present one of my own music pieces called "Aubade".

"Aubade" is not only a famous piece from Francis Poulenc but also a well-known French woman's lingerie brand. Therefore, I supposed the cello player was a woman and I called her Ilena ÄŒenlov (anagram of Vienna Cello!).

I would like to apologize to the real cello player of these samples and thank him?/her? (as well as the Vienna team) for the amazing quality of these samples (I'm using only the Standard Library).

I would be grateful if you took a few minutes to discover "Aubade" and even more if it could lead to a constructive conversation afterwards.

    Kindest regards,

    Dominic

  • Hi Dominic,

I had the time to listen to your piece and I enjoyed it. The melody but also the lively rhythm, the cooperation between the piano and the cello, it kept my attention until the end, with musical pleasure.
And the cello and the piano sound also very good. I think, that you had a lot of work to achieve this result.

Congratulations on this piece and performance!

  • Hi Dominic,

Sincerely, this is one of the better demos/pieces I have heard here, both compositionally and sonically. I also have been coming on this forum and listening to many of the talented people who post their work here for many years. Your mix is well balanced and natural, pleasing to the ear. Your interpretation is very musical and convincing (l'usage des samples en restitue très bien l'intention). Knowing you were using the standard library and not the full, I am impressed by your result. The music in itself is moving, well constructed, melodicaly flowing and harmonically rich and coherent. I liked it very much. Keep on composing!

    Esther

  • Hi Dominic,

I guts it is the very first time that I meet you here on the forum and it is a very pleasant surprise! The piece you've posted is just great. It flows admirably natural and displays great skill and interplay from piano and cello. You've proven yourself having a thorough insight in the playing techniques of the cello and the piano. On top this, your recording is of sublime clear quality and in perfect balance (partly because the composition is so well balanced).

Don't be so modest, your composition and technique is highest level!
