  • synchronized woodwinds velocity crossfade in Sibilius

I have both the older VSL woodwinds library and the newer synchronized woodwinds. After some time experimenting with both I seem to prefer the older VSL wood winds. I am trying to determine why I like the older ones better by trying to match them as close as possible using Sibelius as the playback software.

It seems I can't turn off velocity crossfades for the longs(it keeps coming back on even with the C28,0 command). A lot of times I prefer vlXF off for the longs. I can do this with the older libraries and Vienna Instruments Pro but not with the Synchrony Player.

Which presets to load with SYNCHRON-ized Woodwinds

If the SYNCHRON-ized Woodwinds Expansion is installed, there are three different preset types of every instrument available. Load the presets from the following folder: SYNCHRON-ized Collections/21 SYzd Woodwinds/Velocity
The sound set will automatically turn on Velocity XF for long note articulations and turn it off for short note articulations.

  • Hello DaveJ!

If you prefer to have VelXF turned off for the woodwinds in general, you could assign a different controller to the VelXF on/off option than the pre-assigned CC28.

    Best regards,
    Andi
