  • Two computer setup and eLicensor for VEPro 7

    Hello!

    Before I ask this question, I want to say that I'm new to VePro 7. I am using  two Windows 10 computers setup (Master/Slave) running VePro 7 Server on my Slave along with PLAY 6 and the EW Libraries. On my Master I am running Cubase Pro 11...

    My question is do I need to open VePro 7 Server on my Master and let it run minimized while I use the VePro 7 plug in in Cubase on my Master? If so, will I need a second eLicense for the Master computer? I heard that with VePro 7 that the license activation has changed from previous versions and that you would have to have a eLicense for each computer now and not just for the server computer.

    I apologize if this has been covered previously as I am new. I appreciate any feedback.


  • Hi, I know it's a pain for me not to answer your question, but I just bought a 2nd PC (windows 10 pro) and am trying to figure out how to network a master and slave.  Any chance you have some links you can share that will instruct me?

    You can now purchase licenses one by one with VE Pro 7, that's correct. 

    You only need a license and key for each computer you want to actually use the VE Pro Server (to load and use plug-ins). 

    You do NOT need another license / key for your master computer if you "only" want to connect to your networked computer - the VE Pro plug-in (that establishes this connection to the VE Pro Server) does not need a license to run.
