  • [deleted] A huge leap for Presonus & VSL, but don't despair, Logic users

Deleted by writer - because not a satisfactory post. Entirely my fault. Very sorry about that. :-(

  • Hoping that the articulations communication will be extended to other DAWs, especially Reaper.

  • Indeed, completely agree with you, Vanceen.  A while back I spent some months with Reaper and was very impressed by the design - one of the dark horses perhaps but it's certainly up there running with the pack.

  • This kind of functionality has existed in vst3 and cubase for at least five years already but no plugins have so far taken the time to implement it on their side. It’s unlikely that Steinberg will adopt presonus api to replace what they feel has already been included in vst3. I applaud vsl for collaborating with presonus to create a more seamless experience in S1. I hope they will consider collaborating with Steinberg too, though I do know Steinberg can be stubborn about things. It’s very unlikely that apple will integrate presonus api into logicpro either. Maybe reaper will, never know. I also doubt very much motu won’t do something unique of their own also, if anything at all. Vsl has graciously provided articulation sets and expression maps for Logic Pro and cubase in the past which is essentially the same thing but just not quite as automatic and seamless to setup in a daw template. Hopefully vsl will continue to provide this kind of integration for the major daws. I do like that presonus is advancing their articulation management beyond what they initially did in 5.0. This is a good sign. In my view it still does not do everything that can be done in cubase and logicpro; but it appears to at least be easier to use and more seamless which will be very appealing to a lot of users
