  • Hi takaeku!

For this Sibelius version the "Vienna Symphonic Library" house style should be installed automatically by the VSL Soundset Installer.

Could it be that you have run the VSL Soundset Installer with a different account than the one you are using Sibelius with? Please run it with the account that you are using Sibelius with.

If this doesn't help, do the sound sets get installed, or are they missing too?

    Best,
    Andi

  • Andi,

I'm using Windows 10 Home in Japanese, but I have only registered one user account.

There are Japanese-specific double-byte characters, but they are not used in the user name because they cause problems.

I can't find any house style files even when I'm logged in with that account.

I have confirmed that the play-only preset files, user guide PDFs, and uninstallers are in place.

Thank you for your quick response.

    Hi takaeku!

Hmm. I wonder if it has something to do with your Japanese Windows version then. So far we didn't have any error reports like this though. Have the sound sets been installed correctly? They should have been installed to the following folder:

    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Avid\Sibelius\Sounds

I have attached the "Vienna Symphonic Library" House Style for Sibelius 2020.x with this post. Please unzip it and copy it to the following folder:

    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Avid\Sibelius\House Style

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • Andi,

I forgot about the sound sets.

The Sounds folder hasn't been updated, just the old version of these files, like the attached image.

I tried deleting the contents of the Sounds folder or the entire Sounds folder, but no sound set was installed.

Can I get the files in the Sounds folder as well?

    Hi takaeku!

Here are the sound sets. Please put them in the folder that can be seen on your screenshot.

  • Hi Andi,

When I copied the Sound Sets and House Style files to the specified folder and tried it, I confirmed that the articulation switching works correctly. The problem is solved!

I am very grateful for your support.

  • Hi Andi

Unfortunately, I have not been entirely successful integrating the sound set into Sibelius's new Ultimate 2020.6. At first, the sound set would not appear in Sib. I used your suggestion and placed them in the appropriate directory.  Then the sound set appeared the Sibelius.

I usually use mostly compete Synchron Libraries.  The Synchron driver does appear the Sib, but I am confined to the two non-synched Special Edition choices. No other Vienna sound sets are listed. It is very strange!

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello Mark!

I'm sorry to say that I didn't fully understand your message. Do you mean that only two of our sound sets appear in Sibelius? If that is the case, you probably mean the two pre-installed sound sets that come with Sibelius.

Did you run the VSL Soundset Installer yet?

Please make sure to run the installer when you are logged in with the account that you want to use Sibelius with.

If this doesn't help, please let me know which OS you are using.

    Best regards,
    Andi

    Andi,

Sorry for the confusion.   The answer to my problem was due to my own stupidity.  I forgot to scroll up when the other Vienna sound sets were listed.

    😃
