  • Hi!

I have owned VI SE a long time and several rooms for MIRx. But MIRx Sinchron stage was not. Then Synchronized SE came out and I bought it for the Synchron Stage space. Now MIRx Sinchron Stage has come out.

Is there any reason for me to buy MIRx Sinchron Stage or it's the same as my Sinchronized SE? I can not understand. Or it was not necessary to buy the SE Synchronized, and wait until the MIRx room came out?

    Thanks!

    Hi efimus,

The SYNCHRON-ized Special Editions have many benefits:

    - New player / great handling
    - More instruments
    - built in positioning

So you will be happy with your SYNCHRON-ized versions of all VI Collections.

However, there are quite some users who love Vienna Instruments / Pro, for different reasons, and our VI Collections also offer quite a few instruments that have not been SYNCHRON-ized yet. That's why we decided to close that gap in the "logic" of our products.

Check out the reduced prices for all VI Collections during February 2021, maybe you will find something you like - you will always get upgrade prices to the corresponding SYNCHRON-ized collections!

    Best,
    Paul

    Hi all,

don't miss the fantastic walk-through video by Erik Snopko! Apart from all the great info, the comparison of all MIRx preset collections alone is worth watching it:

    -> MIRx Comparison

    Enjoy,

  • Could it be that this vido link is wrong, leading to 280 VC

I am still struggeling as well, was waiting for Synchron MIRx since years (need to dig out the old posts) Now I have my SE synchronized (but still have 3 download instruments ... )

  • Thanks for the hint - the link should work now.

  • Ok, I decided to skip on this offer, my Synchron(ized) Library is already too big, only 3 VI Instruments and no urgent need to use them anymore (and if I need them again I'll spend the 20€)

For shure it is great, but just comes few months too late :(

  • Will there be an update for MIRx in the (near) future?

There are still some "problems" with some instruments. Also, the naming scheme of both the instrument positions and the character presets is a bit messy. Somewhere I already mentioned this, but can't find the thread.

    Some examples:

    • Strings (e.g. Dimension Strings) go to the position of the second violins by default.
    • Flute I goes to the solo position by default.

Would you please do us a favour and report this directly to support@vsl.co.at? That way I can make sure that VSL software engineers are made aware of the problem.

... but truth to be told, I assume that with the quite demanding switch of our copy protection scheme to iLok just around the corner, their spare time to handle smaller issues like these might be limited ATM.

Thanks for your help and your patience!

  • Dietz,

I just want to say I have been using the SYNCHRON MIRX presets recently in MirPro and this is really a truly awesome way to work, so thanks again for providing these.

When I have MIRX mode enabled in VePro, and I add ViPro instruments, VePro automatically finds the right MIRX preset for that particular channel, positions the instrument on the stage in a place that you apparently really like, and sets the channel preset automatically to that instrument.  All without me doing anything other than loading the ViPro preset.  Honestly this is very easy way to work and sure I can tweak the MirPro stage later, but this makes for an excellent starting place to build up an ensemble dynamically and truly the ViPro instruments are very very streamlined with this setup....love it.  Thank you.  I have most of Cube including all extended instruments, etc..and so far every one of them has loaded, but I still have yet to go through Cube Percussion to see if that is integrated, since a lot of Cube Percusion are in patches rather then presets?

Anyway, thanks so much again...loving the Synchron MIRX presets.

Thank you so much for your kind words! When I think about how much work these MIRx presets have been for me, it's really, really nice to hear.

Back then, Herb and I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't make much sense to create individual settings for each of the dozens of percussion instruments. Apart from the way they were mapped for Vienna Instruments, they have to fill very specific places (and spaces!) in each individual arrangement, so it's more or less impossible to find sensible pre-made spots for all of them. The "General Purpose" presets were designed for exactly these cases.

    Thanks again and best regards,

  • Makes sense, thanks Dietz
