  • Sync'd Dim Strings in MIR Pro Synchron Stage?

    Hey Dietz!

I think I'm missing something here. Why would MIR Pro have an EQ setting for the sync'd Dim Strings in the Synchron Hall? I thought the sync'd Dim Strings already have the Synchron Stage sound applied to them, and thus it would not make sense to run them through the Synchron Stage one more time. Have I misunderstood something fundamental here?

  • I'm not sure that I understand the question. The original Dimension Strings for Vienna Instruments aren't "synchronized". They are the ones I made all the MIRx settings for. :-)

  • Aha, well maybe I just misunderstood then! So the EQ presets in the attached screenshot actually refers not to the SYP ones, but to the VI ones? They are named "Sync'd" because you're kind of making them Sync'd that way?

  • I.e, you would use MIR Pro on the dry VI Dim Strings, but not on the Synchronized new ones, right? (thats the way I understood it to begin with)

  • Hi Rasmus,

    two times "yes":

    1. Yes, the "Synch'ed" tag refers to the fact that I tried to build a bridge between the worlds of Vienna Instruments and Synchron Instruments. (... now I have to think about a way to "Viennize" the Synchron Instruments ... ;-D ...)

    2. Yes, I strongly suggest to use MIR Pro with dry Dimension Instruments (.... as a matter of fact that's most likely the most powerful and versatile combo in the domain of sampled instruments).

    Kind regards,

  • Ok, I understand, thanks for explaining!

It is a very powerful combo indeed. I have used it that way (VI Dim Strings -> MIR Pro), but since I got the SY Synched Dim Strings I use those instead, as I really love the SY Player these days.

What would be awesome from a mixing perspective (as I mentioned in another thread as well) would be to have access to the room and plate reverbs from Synchron to be able to use those on other sources to get a fully coherent sound.

At least the way I think about it is that sounds in the Synchron Player (Synched Dim Strings, BBO, etc) already have the sound of the Synchron Stage, and then the Room and Plate reverb applied afterwards.

The sounds you run through MIR Pro then also get the Synchron Stage sound, but then there is no way to add the Room and Plate reverbs from SYP, which would add that final piece of ultimate glue. What if those could be added to MIRacle, or be ported to a Synchron Reverb plugin, now that would be awesome!

  • Sounds like a great idea. I'll put it on the list of feature requests!

    Kind regards,
