  • Latency and IP-protocol with VEP Pro 7

    Hi,

Other dedicated audio-over-ip servers on protocols such as Dante, Ravenna or Soundgrid, have latencies under 1ms. With Ensamble pro 7, I find that (on my setup) latency must be considerably higher to not get pops or clicks or such. For example, I want to do guitar amp modelling in real time over a VEP server, but for now latency is too high, even with only 1 track.

I know there are many factors that determine latency. But, why can I not get as low latency with VEP pro 7 as other audio over ip protocols? What protocol does VEP use, is it AES67 compliant? Can a VEP pro 7 server be connected to Dante or Ravenna audio interfaces?

What are the lowest latency you are able to get in VEP 7 ?
