    I'm a composer, a long-time Finale user, and a long-time-but-inadequate-Cubase user, but I am completely new to using VE v.6 (not VEP) and VI. 

    I've looked through the VE videos and tutorials, but I feel completely lost:  the videos describe VE features and options, but I can't find anything on how to use it . . . I am a complete beginner at this -- I'm not even sure what is to be loaded into the VE!  

    Can anyone direct me to a "VE for Dummies", or "VE for complete beginners" -- if these exist?

    (I have VI Special Editions and Plus, Volumes 1 and 2).

    Hi there!

    Thank you for your message! The tutorials should be a great starting point - but it can be a bit overwhelming without any "hands-on" experience. While you might not need VE for a single instrument or hand full of the instrument - but for a full orchestra setup, you will love the possibilities.

    My suggestion: Start with the most basic VSL tutorial videos we have and follow them along - by just loading maybe 3-4 instruments and explore from there. That way you always have a good overview of what's going on etc.

    Thank-you, Andreas -- I appreciate the reply!

    I have begun to work my way through the videos, but it is difficult to differentiate between those that are geared to more experienced sample-users, those that seem to have been created to publicise Vienna's newer offerings, and those that actually take an instructional approach for those who are new to Vienna.  

    Something like this -- 

    -- which, granted, is a free excerpt from a third-party commercial instruction video -- would be so very welcome were it provided by Vienna itself.  However, I understand that Vienna's great achievements have been in its products, and that 'education' is its own field.

    Thanks again for replying, and -- if you are one of the Andreas' who have been kindly answering my chat-support questions -- for your help on that level!
