  • *FAO* Beat Kaufmann, re: Greigs Holsberg Suite

Ok, this is aimed at Mr Beat kaufmann.

I simply MUST know how you did the violins in the very start of the aforementioned Chamber Strings demo[first 8 bars]. It sounds amazing! Eveytime i listen to it i'm like "Good Lord, how do they do that?!", so I've decided to ask.

I have only Solo Strings and Opus 1, but it's how you used the repetition tool that I'm most interested in.

    *please* respond to this,

    *Rob.

    Hi Rob
No problem, but be a little patient. At the moment I'm very busy at my occupation. Perhaps tomorrow I will be back... [:D]
    Thank you for waiting

  • Beat,
I know this is off topic, but are you safe and well? I've seen the pictures on tv, and wonder if you and the family are ok.

    Stay safe.

    Regards,

    Alex.

    Hi Rob
As I promised yesterday - here I'm back.

First of all: I didn't use the Repetition-Tool. I managed the short notes
like you can read here in the Tutorial
    ">" vsl="" short=""> "> "VSL Short Notes"

The second thing is, that you get a "new" sample type with
chamberstrings: short staccatos (sh stac). You will find those
"short stacs" only with the chamberstrings-library at the moment.
(Not at SoloStrings, Pro Strings, Opus-Strings)
And as you can listen to - it is a very useful kind of sample.
Especially for sequencies like we have with the holberg suite.

That's the whole secret of the holberg repetitions.
    All the best
    Beat

    The Holberg Suite (Demos Chamberstrings)

    Attention:
You get a very slow down load rate on my homepage at the moment. Perhaps it is
because of the flood damages here in switzerland... Hop it will be better soon. Sorry!

Thank you Alex to be worried about me!
I'm well. Fortunately not every house in Switzerland is flooded.
I'm happy to be on the "save side"...
And when I'm looking now to our dear friends in USA. Catharina...
    I have no words.

  • Beat,
I'm pleased to hear you and the family are well and safe, and yes, I empathise with our fellow human beings in the states.

And i'm lucky enough to have downloaded Holberg already. Great study material, and a credit to you. This is the most live VSL piece i've heard, and the strings are the key.

    Regards,

    Alex.

  • Awesome!

    Thank you very much, Beat!
