  • Vermeer processor

    Hello the VSL Team,

I ask both user members and VSL technicians, have you ever tested one of these processors, RYZEN 9 5900X or RYZEN 5950X for use with a 512 or 256 s/s buffer setting?

Overall, if anyone here has had the opportunity to test these new processors, do you have any initial objective feedback for use with Vienna Ensemble Pro?

    Thanks for your feedback :)

  • Hi,

These processors were just released, and it includes quite some changes in its architecture.
This makes it impossible to say something about these until we got our hands on these.

I tried to get one of these myself, but they sold out too quick :)
As soon as I can get one I'll test our software in combination with it and let you know!

    Best, Ben

    Hello Ben,

have you been able to test the Vermeer processors?

If so, do you think it's ok or do you still need to be cautious for the moment?

  • Hi!

Sorry, I forgot about this thread.
I'm running a 5950X for 1.5 years at this point, and I can also recommend it.

Since my post here we also included some CPU specific improvements for Ryzen 3xxx and newer, and therefore our software runs on newer AMD CPUs just as good as on Intel ones.

    Best, Ben
