    Hi everybody,

i recently purchased Synchron Strings Pro and Phoenix. I wanted to make something with a big orchestra ...

Here is the main theme of Star Trek : Into darkness, composed by Michael GIACCHINO.

Strings : Synchron Strings Pro + Dimension Strings

Horns, trumpets and trombones : Dimension Brass

Tuba, woodwinds, drums and bells : VI collections

    Timpanis : Phoenix

    Strar Trek : Into darkness

Strar Trek : Into darkness less reverberated

    Enjoy !

    Philippe

  • Hi Philippe,

How nice to hear something from you. It's a fine mock-up and as you can guess, I tend to prefer the lesss reverberated version.

The brass section is awesome, the timpani are a bit weak in such a huge context, but for the rest, you did a terrific job again!

    Hope to hear you soon,

    Jos

    Hi Jos,

    thanks for your kind comment.

I have made a new version, with trumpets and low brasses enhanced. Tubular bells as well. And timpanis, but just a little 😉

    Star trek new version

In fact, it is the second part of a "suite" edited by Hal Leonard (Symphony Pops Collection). Original orchestration by Michael Giacchino. I am working on the first part. I will post the complete version later.

    Best

    Philippe

  • Hmm...   I didn't like this score, but your performance is very good, masterfully done.   I think I am affected by comparing any Star Trek music to the original music by Jerry Goldsmith which has got to be one of the greatest film scores ever written.
