I have no experience with any DAW.
Following forum member’s advice I have downloaded the trial version of Reaper and want to learn to enhance the playback sound of Sibelius scores with VSL in Reaper. What I mean by enhance is to make each instrument and the whole ensemble sound more like the real thing.
To do this I understand it is best to open Sibelius through Reaper which I can do and then to import each instruments used in the Sibelius score separately so each instrument appears in its own separate track in Reaper which I do not know how to do.
If someone knows how this can be done please let me know.
There is no mention of transferring separate tracks or instruments or midi in the Sibelius user Gide section on Rewire.
I don't know whether it is best to work with midi or with audio in Reaper in order to enhance the playback sound of Sibelius scores.
I suppose there are advantages and disadvantages to each way. If someone has experience with the two methods please let me know.
I understand that midi contains only signals and no sound, therefore it follows that the sounds of the virtual instruments used in the Sibelius score are not transferred when using Rewire to transfer midi from Sibelius to Reaper. Would one then need to use the sound VSL libraries directly in Reaper to hear the original sounds while working on Reaper?
Lastly I would like to know which Reaper plugins are the most suitable for enhancing the playback sound of Sibelius scores.
Help in these matters will be much appreciated. Thank you.
