  • Expression (CC11) doesn't work for Overdrive in Sibelius

    Hello,

I've started to use the Overdrive Guitar in Sibelius Ultimate, but have been surprised by the fact that the CC11 is not triggered by the crescendo and diminuendo lines, as is the case with all the others VI instruments I have. Even when there is more than one instance of Vienna Ensemble at the same time, the CC11 is triggered by cresc./dim. lines for Sax, for example, but not for the Overdrive Guitar. Is it the case using another CC for expression with Overdrive Guitar? – or is there any way to link the cresc./dim. lines with some CC?

    All the best,

    Verlaine

  • Hello Verlaine!

The sound set "VE Plucked Instrumetns" doesn't create CC11 commands for changing dynamics. Overdrive only has one dynamic layer after all. If you want hairpins to change the volume during sustained notes of Overdrive, you could make use of the Sibelius Cresc./Dim. plugin to create CC11 commands. You will have to turn on VelXF in the Vienna Instruments player that these CC11 commands will have an effect.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • Thank you, Andi. The use of the cresc./dim plugin solved the trouble.

    Best greetings,
