  • Mixing first edition and horizon solo strings

I have first edition orchestral package on my computer which is purchased and used by my collegue. I have just purchased the horizon solo strings. The solo strings work fine but my collegue can no longer use his orchestral package (ie in legato) as the performance tool does not support it [:(]

How can we get around this problem.

    Thank you for your assistance.

  • let me guess ... your computer is a mac and your registered format is EXS - right? to use the performance tool for both editions you need to have the combi tool installed. if your collegue has the orchestral package registered and you a horizon product neither you nor he will see it in the download section ... this sounds a little bit like library sharing though ...

Hi Christian, My computer is PC and my format is Giga 160. Do you know where we can get the combi tool?

    Thank you for your assistance.

Sorry about that I was a bit slow on the uptake [[:|]] But no it isn't library sharing it is all legitimate and proof can be provided as and when required. [H]

Any ideas where we can obtain the combo tool?

    Thanks

ok - so my guess was wrong the combi tool is EXS specific ... the effect is more or less the same - for giga you can enable the repective modes in the performance tool depending on your registered products.
regarding *sharing libraries* please see also the third question in our Terms of License (which you have accepted by opening your package)

    Hi christian,

Thanks for that and I have read question 3 and have no quarrels with that. We simply use the same computer and do not share librarys. The problem has arisen as a result of me wanting just strings wheras my colleague who is a composer needs the whole orchestra. I hope this clarifies the problem.

Back to the problem is there any solution for PC?

    Thank you for your assistance.

  • Hi christian,

Sorry I am a bit slow again. Having installed my product 'horizon solo strings' everything works fine but Oysteins orchestral pagage has no supported legato mode and legato dosen't work properly.

    [*-)]: Any ideas [*-)]:

    Mark.

  • I'm sure that you would need 2 copies of the performance tool, each registered separately as you are different users; your friend can't use your tool, and you can't use his.
