  • Any trouble with edit window in Synchron Pianos?

    Hello all!

I am having a weird situation where the edit window does not function properly in Synchron Pianos.  I have been in touch with VSL support, but I thought it would be interesting to know if anyone else is having trouble.  The problem is that you cannot change the volume, dynamic range, or tuning of a single key using the sliders, If I pick multiple keys I can change the volume but then have to return the keys I did not want to change to 0.  Also the EQ window does not effect anything in the edit panel.

    Anybody have this happen?

    Thanks,

    Mike

  • Hi Mike,

We're having a hard time to reproduce this, be it on Mac or Windows... anyone else having troubles here?

I wonder what could be the cause.

    Best,
    Paul

Hi Paul, It is a bit of a mystery. I even reinstalled the Synchron piano app. I wonder if I need to remove it and all files associated with it. Do you think that might help? I appreciate you looking into this and Johannes has been great the work with! I love the Synchron pianos so it would great to be able to use the editing functions. Thanks again, Mike Coyle

  • Hi Mike,

Removing and reinstalling software and samples would be the next step for me as well. Can you give it a try?

Hi Paul, I’m assuming I can save my user presets, but where would I find them? Also, is there a VSL uninstall tool for completely removing? If not, what folders and files should be deleted to completely remove before reinstall action? Would I need to remove the data files (samples) too and re-download everything as if it were a first installation? Mike

    Hi Mike,

User Presets are stored in the User Preset Folder, location is shown in the Preferences => Database.

You can use the Windows Uninstaller, no other files need to be uninstalled.

I'd go for a completely new download of all data (you can of course keep your existing data, if you want). Sample Content management is also taken care of in the Database Settings.

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

I am going to do a complete re-installation today.  (I'll let you know the results!

    Vielen Dank!

  • Hi Paul,

Quick Question:  Why are some things grayed-out during installation?  See attached screen cap.

  • Hi Paul,

Some of the edit window works now, except on my presets.  My biggest question is why does the "per note" EQ not effect any note in either factory presets or mine?  Am I maybe missing a switch to activate it?  I've tried to alter a few notes with the edit window EQ and nothing happens.

    Thanks

    Mike

  • Hi Mike,

The greyed out parts are the minimal installation parts.

Please send me such a tweaked preset with some EQ'd notes, I'll check asap: support@vsl.co.at
