  • Brass to go with Synchron libraries

    Hello-

I'm planning on investing in the Synchron libraries. Going to get Strings 1, percussion, and upgrade my VI Woodwinds to the Synchron-ized edition. As of now I see that the only available library with the synchron room sound is Dimension Brass which I'm staying away from because it just doesn't fit my workflow.

I own the symphonic cube and I know that I can get the Synchron mir roompack but honestly, I never got along with MIR and what I love about the Synchron stuff is that I don't have to fiddle with the sound. And I really love the Synchron player.

What i'm thinking about is upgrading my Special Edition Vol 1 to PLUS so that I can use that brass in the meanwhile - until there's a dedicated Synchron Brass or a synchron-ized version of VI brass. But that would be a waste if a new brass library will be released in the near future.

I know that VSL does not like to talk about future products - But is there any information that I might have missed, about when to expect a brass library for Syncrhon? If I do get the Vol1 PLUS, will there be an upgrade path towards a new library, when it arrives? Thank you!

  • Hi

Here is what Paul said about Synchron(-ized) Brass a few weeks ago : "Announce when it's ready, and everyone will be happy!" So, it looks like they're working on it. If it's Synchron Brass, I don't think there will be an upgrade path because it will be a "new" library. Also, VSL released BBO Brass Packs last month with the Synchron room sound. And Dietz said that Synchron Stage MIRx would be available in 2020. So, you will be able to use all your VI Brass libraries with this extension.

    Best, David

  • A syncrhon MirX would be really great!

    Thanks David!

  • Check this for solid combination of Synchron and Dimension Brass.

I'm using this blend right now in a few projects and it's sounding great!

  • Stephen, what a wonderful set of tutorial videos! They all contain superbly clear, precise and comprehensive expositions, with plenty of invitations for the viewer to share in your fine and well-seasoned subjective standpoints, reasonings, purposes and judgments. Really and truly splendid work! I believe these 4 videos will become classics - as they richly deserve.

    Many thanks to you.

That is extremely kind of you -- thank you!  More to come soon. 👍
