Hello, I am wondering what I can do to try and avoid the problem of not all samples streaming correctly with cut-offs. Sometimes the piece I'm working on plays through without problems but more often than not it does not. I use Vienna Ensemble (not Pro) and Sibelius and have the Symphonic Cube. The samples are stored on an external disc (fast enough according to the manual) streaming via USB3. I also route the sound output via a digital mixer.
I have large orchestral score and it is certainly testing my system (Macbook Pro, 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3). There is enough RAM (16Gb) however when everything is loaded, with 2Gb still free according to Activity Monitor. I looked in the Optimising Playback manual and saw the section about velocity X-Fade which may be the solution but changing dynamics is such a feature of the score that turning this off for various instruments is not possible though maybe a midi command in certain places if I can work that out might be a solution but a pain.
Are there any other considerations I might try? I have wondered about the Optimize function in each individual instrument (currently off) but don't know what this does or if it will help, or similarly the Velocity XF instrument setting that defaults to Global rather than 'on' (or 'off').
It may be that my system isn't quite up to it but any advice would be appreciated.
