  • Synchronized SE Volume 1 With Vienna Ensemble

    Greetings,

I have just purchased the Synchronized SE Volume 1 library. This 'starter setup' puts a lot of other's mainstream stuff to shame. I'm looking forward to using and building this orchestra. The interface is intuitive and the sounds are realistic. I mean, how many sampler interfaces can you get a rough idea of in 5 minutes? Anyway, on to my issue.

I plan to control this library using a Hammond B3 clone. The machine has dual manuals, lots of drawbars, pots and buttons. The controls (expression, pots, buttons, drawbars, etc) transmit on MIDI channel 1. The upper manual transmits on channel 2 and the lower on channel 3.

I suppose you see what's coming. The Synchron stand alone is not multi timbral, so I can't use that. It just takes the input from all three channels being transmitted by the controller, and lumps it together. The Vienna Ensemble is multi timbral, but I still have an issue. I'm hoping the problem is my own ignorance.

I set up a channel for violins on channel 2 (upper) and bass on channel 3 (lower). However, there doesn't seem to be any way to send the control data (channel 1) in addition to the note data on channels 2 and 3. That makes all the cool buttons, pots and sliders useless. Oh....too bad!

I tried setting up a third channel with input from channel 1, but that didn't work either. The control data is getting through, but there's no note data being sent to that channel. I need to be able to send MIDI channel 1 data to the instrument channel, in addition to the note data on channel 2 or 3.

I am wondering if anybody has an idea how I can make this work.

Your help will be most appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Graham

    EDIT:

I have resolved this issue. thanks
