  • Synchron Pianos weird mic panning

    Hello,

I am having an issue with every Synchron Piano library.

If I try loading one single mic at a time and playing with headphones on, I can distinctly hear that the panning is not perfectly centered! It is always to the left, but never on the center and it's pretty annoying for playing live.
I tried changing multiple headphones but ended always with the same result.

That issue is particularly noticeable on the close mics (which should instead be perfectly centered).

Have anyone encountered this kind of problem?

    Hi lupine,

Those pianos were recorded in different positions, e.g., the Bösendorfer was recorded to the left (scroll down to see the recording position).

We have always added a Concert_Centered preset in the preset browser, for all Mic configurations, where the panning has been adjusted - you can take those mixer settings as a blueprint for your own adaptations!

  • Hi Paul,

    thanks for your response.
I have just installed the Blüthner and its close mics all have the same left oriented panning.
Isn't it recorded in a different Synchron Stage hall with centered positioning?

  • Hi lupine,

Which preset are you loading? I don't see what you see...

  • Hi Paul,

I have chosen the "Default" one and deactivated all but the Condenser mic

  • Hi,

Default resets all mics. You can always check how we approached the different mics by comparing with the provided presets.

  • Can it be that your audio output device (headphone amp) has left-right balance biazed to the left?

  • Hi VladKo,

I have checked my output device and the left-right balance it at the center
