  • New Template issue?

    Hi there,

I am redoing my template with most 'Basic keyswitching' patches. I really love having all the possibilities (art files) at my disposal.

Here's the problem. I set up 6 midi tracks in Giga and cooresponding SX puter - each giga track has the same 'basic' patch loaded in each (I have don this for most of the instruments).

I then 'keyswitch' from each cooresponding SX track so that each of the 6 midi track plays a different articulation - i.e., stac on 1, .3's on 2, .5's on 3 - etc.

Everything works great. But if I shut down the giga computers - the six various keyswitched tracks are not 'saved' - in other words all six tracts 'play' the first STAC articulation. [:(]

How do I save this so each restart the individual art files are called up on each SX track and ready to go.

I hope I am making this clear enough. Please help.

    Rob

  • I'd be tempted to say, are you recording the keyswitch as a midi note in each track, before the first "real" note of the track, and then making sure to play that pre-note measure to "initialize" your tracks? That sounds too obvious so maybe I'm not understanding your question?

This is not a Giga problem.

Make sure that the MIDI note for the track is recorded before the track starts and check that SX is set to "chase" MIDI. If you don't Giga will always assume that you want the first instrument of the Basic patch.

    Hi guys,

I think it has to be 'chase midi' issue. I'll check that later this morning. Many thanks for getting me back on track - I really appreciate it.
