  • Does Synchron Piano supports multicore processors ????

Synchron Piano produces al lot of glitch sounds, especially when you use CC64 for sustain pedal! I thought it was my i5 quad core processor so I bought an iMac pro Xeon 8 core. Unfortunately the results is the same. I can beleve it!

I am afraid that Vienna Synchron Piano does not support multi-core processors! I compared the CPU meters of both computers (iMac i5 quad core and iMac pro Xeon 8 core): the peak values are absolutely the same!!! That is incredible!

I made the same test with Vienna Synchron Piano stand-alone, just to exclude (for a second time) that the issue coming from Logic or Ableton Live, but the result is even worst.

    Have you experienced similar problems???

  • Hi EMC,

The Synchron Pianos Player does support multiprocessing. Are you using an SSD, is it connected on a fast USB 3 / Thunderbolt port (if external) and is the SSD formatted especially for Mac? ExFAT, for example, gives very poor results.

I suggest you send an email with detailed hardware specifications to support@vsl.co.at.

    Kind regards, Andreas

  • Hi Andreas,

    thanks for your answer.

unfortunately the problem is not the SSD, I also used my internal SSD with no improvements. The problem occurs with various kind of computers (fast and professional) and with any kind of SSD drives.

I wrote to the support but also here to know what happens to the other users when they listen to a midi track with CC64 sustain control in a piece with several notes such as an Etude by Chopin or something like that.
