  • pondering purchase

After reading a lot about the VSL products, I'm closer to making a purchase. But, I still have a couple of questions.
    1. Does every VSL product come with a performance tool or do you have to buy one of the larger samples sets to get a performance tool?

    2. What makes the Performance Set different than say the Orchestra Cube or any other VSL product for that matter?

I was looking at the VSL website price on the Performance set and there has to be some error. It says that the summer VIP price is just under $800 when the regular price is over $2000! Did they leave something out of their information or should it be just under $1800?
    Thanks

  • Thanks for the information on Performance set. What can you tell me about the performance tooL?
Does each sample set come with its own and let's say I buy two different sets — horns and chamber strings. Do I have to use both tools or can one act as the performance tool for both sets? i.e. are they interchangeable?

    thanks again,
    Kingery

  • Do you mean Epic Horns? If so, then you get performance patches with the set of samples, the same thing is true for the Chamber Strings. The performance tool is a free download from the VSL website. When you register your products, you can access the download page, and get the performace tool.

There is one Performance Tool, you just set the various MIDI channels according to what instrument you are intending to use on that channel by loading the appropriate file, which will be available for download as soon as you register your product.
