A good opportunity to explore.

Performance Repetitions are repated notes that we recorded in a row (5 repetitions for slow/legato repetitions, 9 repetions for faster portato/staccato repetitions).

We have sliced them up, and now you can play those repetitions manually, with the correct transition sound.

Here is a video about performance repetitions in the VI Pro Sample Player (now available with single licenses at 55 EUR).

I also looked at your registrations and have 2 suggestions for you:

1) Get the FREE Big Bang Orchestra and check out our Synchron Player Software! BBO Videos available here!

I was lloking into Synchronized-SE at the time of their launch, then I went involved in rock band live performing for the last two years — less Sibelius, more Stones.

When all this trouble will pass, hope to able to visit Vienna and VSL HQ.

I have some questions about the Repititions Control.  

1. Do most all VI instruments have repititions recorded and available or only certain ones?
   
   
2. I see that repititions increase in volume with each repitition(based on tutorial video).  Is that the only option, always increasing volume while advancing through the repetition slices?
   
   
3. Is there any other Round Robin technology in VI instruments over and above the Repititons Control?
   
   
4. Since Synchron Player doesn't have Repitition Control, what if anything does Synchron Player do for this and/or for Round Robin concerns?

2) You have crescendos and diminuendos. 

3) That's a question I don't understand.

I guess I am wondering if there is any underlying round robin technology built into VI instruments other then the Repitions Control... or is Repititons Control considered to be THE round robin technology that comes with VI instruments, if and when its provided in any given instrument?

When I watched the video tutorial it was talking about how to skip repititions, which basically gives a faster or slower rate of crescendo...and what I didn't understand is if that is always the case that all repititons always crescendo...or do I need to look to the preset/patch names and descriptions to understand which ones are intended for crescendo or descrescendo...  are any of them designed to not <>?

So I take it with Synchron Player instruments then, you are building similar technology inside it, but its more automatic then VI instruments, and I should just not worry about it and play my music?

You're confusing perf-rep patches with perf-rep cre5 / cre9.

VI patches come with:

perf-rep_leg  (legato repetitions)

perf-rep_port (portato repetitions)

perf-rep_sta (staccato repetitions)

perf-rep_spi (spiccato repetitions)

There are exceptions, of course, per instrument. See the manuals for listings. None of these naturally cresc/dim --they hold the same dynamic. (But by velocity or any other assigned controller, they can, of course vary their dynamic.) 

The patches with cre5/9 sequentially play louder or softer. Particular notes can be omitted so that they grow or diminish more quickly, as you observed.

I had to check some of this before responding.

Yes. Load a fast-rep patch, and in the Advanced View, you'll see only one version of the sample (one red dot). By the way, a few of the older libraries also have one and two upbeat samples.

Perf-Repetition patches come in two varieties: dyn5/9 *and* regular (non-dynamic) repetitions.

Yes. There are short and long notes with more than one alternative sample. They often have four options if you include the initial note (designated with the 1 in a circle). They're not designated with "perf" anything, but they still have round robin options.

Note as well that to deflect the machine gun effect, alternating tuning curves which can be triggered per note further obscure any sense of a repeated sample.
