  • Summer discount Bummer

This isn't exactly where I wished to air this [:O]ops: but, I can't find the "contact" link that usually accompanies a website such as this.

I'm not very happy to find the product that I purchased here just a few weeks ago to be discounted by hundreds of dollars on July 15. I'm pretty disgusted about it. Is there any consession the company would be willing to make for people who just purchased before the July 15th announcement(scaled rebates, or special vip opportunites)? [[:|]]

I was considering more purchases but am put off at this point. [:'(]

trevor, unfortunately there _has_ to be a certain starting date for special offers which of course cannot be announced earlier ...
if you are looking for contact information to VSL i can hopefully help you at least with this

  • Thanks Christian,

I was able to send an e-mail, but haven't heard anything back yet...

[I] I think though, that if these specials were announced ahead of time, that would allow people who want the deal to wait, those that need the product immediately could still go ahead with it. Lots of businesses do that all the time if you think about it.

Anyway that's what I thought was supposed to have happened in the promotional e-mail announcement, because the subject line read "Newsletter 04/05" but I in fact, received it on 07/16.

Every business I've dealt with has given their customers the sale credit for an item when it is marked down right after they made their purchase, (within a certain period of time). Cakewalk, for example, that was very good about this very issue (Sonar) and they treated me very fairly, I am loyal to them for life! [:D]

  • I would guess that in the long run you will consider vsl a friend for life as well. Yes, there have been moments, very briefly, where I have been frustrated, but the fact is, they run their business well and are very supportive of their customers in a way that makes it possible for us be musical. What a gift! For what it is worth, I do see your point and it is obvious that you were somewhat a victim of timing. but perhaps this is just one of those life things that happens to all of us from time to time. Kind of a coulda, woulda shoulda that if you can get to an objective point, might understand that this really is more of a circumstance issue than a vsl issue. Hope this helps in sympathy if not much function. you will have an amazing time with your new samples in spite of it all!

  • "...perhaps this is just one of those life things that happens to all of us from time to time."

I bought a 3,500 USD PC two weeks before Logic announced the shift to Mac.

I bought EXS and then Logic 5.x about three or four months before Apple loaded everything into Logic 6.

You're in good company, Trevor, and I'm sorry for your frustrations. But I doubt that you'll ever lose money to an enterprise as supportive and loyal to its customers as VSL. You may regret the timing, but you'll never regret owning this library.

Cheers to all of our war stories.

trevor, we just don't send newsletters on a mothly base - only if we really have to tell you something we consider to be important [;)] - and this has been the 4th this year ....
