  • Editing mp3 or wav files with Vienna Suite Pro

Is there a way I can edit mp3 or wav files using Veinna Suite Pro? I'm in law school right now and sometimes the reverb of my lecture halls are not the friendliest, I want to make the sound drier and clean everything up to use in a dictation program. If there is a way, how would I do it?

If you can help, I woud appreciate it tremendously,

    Hi Illuminatus,

Vienna Suite / Pro plug-ins are available in all major format (VST/AU/AAX), so you should be able to instantiate them in any host application (a.k.a. DAW) you normally use for audio editing.

What you're looking for specifically ("de-reverberation") is more of a restoration task than anything else, though, thus it's not necessarily in the scope of Vienna Suite plug-ins. I'd rather look into specialized tools for this goal, like the Proximity EQ+ from our friends at Sonible, or Akon Digital's DeVerberate. Maybe you own iZoptope's RX restoration suite already which comes with a dedicated de-reverberation processor, too.

Depending on the source material all of these tools leave a quite obvious acoustical trace (i.e. audio artifacts), so don't expect wonders. 😊

    HTH,

I'll add SPL De-Verb Plus from Plugin Alliance and UNVEIL from zynaptiq. Fabulous tools 👍 I would always try to avoid compressed audio files like MP3 if you can. WAV is the way to go.
