    Hello,

    I'm really hoping someone can offer me some advice on this one. I know the number of DP users may be limited on this forum because of the lack of compatibility with the VSL and the MachFive, however.....

    I'm getting to know the Machfive and DP at the moment and trying to use the VSL, with some success... In Logic after I have created my sequence in MIDI with the VSL I hit bounce and everything is bounced down to Audio, great.

    In DP I do the same thing but this time after hitting bounce only the existing audio tracks are bounced down to Stereo, therefore missing out the all important MIDI tracks with VSL samples playing.

    Any help greatly appreciated, I must be missing something really obvious.

    Sounds like you're using DP 3.x. You may be able to bounce or freeze midi tracks in 4.x but you can't in any 3.x version. As you've discovered only audio tracks that are selected are bounced in the earlier version. DP 4.x is OSX only so if that's what you're running you may be able to bounce or freeze midi tracks as in logic. It would seem that virtual instruments running within the program can be frozen and that midi tracks triggering external platforms such as Gigastudio obviously would have to be recorded as audio tracks and then bounced.

    Thanks for your reply. I am actually using DP 4.52 on Tiger with just internal plug ins like Machfive, Battery etc. I'll look into this freezing of tracks and see if I can figure it out. Thanks for the reply and do let me know if you have any other ideas.

    As you've found out, you can only bounce audio tracks, so you need to render everything first. Just create an aux track and bus in any sound sources that aren't actual audio tracks. Have your virtual instruments set to output into the input of the new aux track. You may have to do the same with other plugs too like convolution reverb, etc. Next record all your finished tracks to the aux track. Once that's done, simply highlight the recorded aux track and select bounce to disk from the menu and you're good to go.

    Not sure what format you want to bounce to, so if its mp3, keep in mind you will need to download and install the LAME framework. Just check the DP manual for instructions. Good Luck!

    By the way, DP 4.6 is available. Great upgrade, especially for film/media composers. Everything I've been waiting for for a long time!
