Multiple Microphone Positions in a Dry Stage Setting.

Has anybody given this a thought and or weather this would yield a better or fuller sounding recordings with a reverb like MIR PRO. I'm curious what everybody thinks. VSL after all has mostly been cherished for well recorded samples in a dry stage setting.

I don't quite follow. :-) Are you talking about MIR and its mic positions or about samples from instruments?

I should have worded it better 😃 I was wondering about recording an instrument or instruments at Silent Stage etc, using multible microphones close, mid, decca, high... Im mostly just curious how it would sound next to the typical dry stage sample recordings.

I see. :-) Appassionata Strings were recorded with multiple mics, for example, and a few others too, IIRC - mostly ensembles, of course. It's just that these mics were already blended carefully for stereo delivery.

BTW: I'll move this thread over to the Vienna Instruments sub-forum as it's more related to them than to MIR.
