Is there any purchase involved with using the free Big Bang Orchestra? Thanks

Hi Paul. Help me with this please.
My understanding was the master pc did not need a Steinberg key/license while I worked with the DAW but the server/slave pc's did need a Steinberg key/license to work.
If so, I moved the Steinberg key from my master pc to another slave to get the Big Bang Orchestra to play from that pc. But now the master daw pc will not open the Pro 7 server software now. I have ordered another usb key as you suggested but I was trying this to see if it worked like this. I did order an extra license a few months ago so I could use it on my DAW pc but now I have a new computer to add as another server. So it is getting confusing. My setup is this; two slave pc's and one DAW pc.
I'm still rearranging my room but I would like to have the Big Bang on one slave and the other slave for various VST's. And of course the DAW pc to accommodate this. Your thoughts?
Thanks

Hi Walter,
You need one license and key for every computer you want to run the VE Pro Server on.
The only situation where you don't need a key on your master computer is when you only CONNECT to your networked computers. The connecting VE Pro PLUG-IN does not need a license to run.

Hi. Trying to acvitvate the Big Bnad Ochestra. I now tried numerous times. I am following the instuctions. I have installed the latest versions of eLicenser and Vienna Donwload Manager. The BBO files have been downloaded onto my drive. I go through Vienna Down Load manager it gets to the part where it activates anfd then I get a message saying thatbthere isnt a USB eLicenser connected to the computer. Is that different to eLicenser. I have no USB thing at all. The eLicenser worked fine with Cubase. Any ideas?

Further to my email below I now seem to have not had or lost the USB stick. I have no recollection of having one with the CubaseLE4 I got. Is there an alternaive l;icensing software that I can use to get BBO?

Hi KidBomba,
Did you install the Synchron Player Software already? You can insert it right in your sequencer.
Vienna Ensemble is our host software that will be useful when you're loading many VSL instruments.
For BBO, I'd stick with the simpler solution, just inserting the Synchron Player in your DAW.
Best,
Paul

I am having trouble getting access to BBO from Cakewalk. I have BBO and the Synchron player installed, and BBO works fine from the standalone player. I see both VST2 and VST3 versions of the player in Cakewalk, but I can't connect to any of the actual BBO instruments. I've manually tried setting channel/bank/patch numbers based on what I see in the standalone player but nothing seems to be generated. I have no trouble with the built-in TTS-1 synth.

Hi Bedlam House,
Did you check that your iLok License is activated and that you have download both the sample content and the Synchron Player with your Vienna Assistant?
Here's a checklist for you!
Best,
Paul
I've done everything in the list. Vienna Synchron Player appears properly in the Cakewalk instruments list. Synchron Player standalone properly loads the BBO and is able to play using selected patches. The problem is that I don't get anything from my MIDI track in Cakewalk when using the Synchron Player plugin is the assigned instrument and I can't figure out how to access any options for the plugin.
Cheers,
Bill
