  • Synchron Pianos macOS audiounit is not visible in a host, but VST-version is available

    Hey, guys. Have any ideas?

MacOS Mojave. Audiounit was installed in the proper folder with other working audiounits.

But it's not visible in neither Logic no Ableton. Only VST is visible. I would like to get AU working because it seems better for performance and stability. I do use this piano one day and already have a couple issues about VST plugin (freezing, cpu usage). I hope to fight at least freezing with AU, haha

    Thanks!

  • Hi alexandr,

Did you check Logic's Plug-in Manager? Maybe you need to validate the plug-in manually.

Freezes: When does it freeze? Which drive are you streaming the sample content from?

  • Hi!

I've checked logic's plugin manager. Plugin is absent at all.

I tried to restart, reboot, reinstall Pianos.

Audiounit is not visible in DAW.

Syncron piano VST freezes in Ableton if I turn on/off additional mics (not much, just up to 3) while it's playing a midi-stream from input midi-channel. After that I had to restart DAW, because it was not repsponding. It happened two times for the same reason. After that I stopped to switch mics when it's performing, haha.

Samples on SD card now. Displayed speed is 50Mb/s.

  • Hi,

An SD card will not be useful, I'm afraid.

Please UNINSTALL the current Synchron Pianos Software and reinstall, this should make the AU version appear in Logic.

If not, please contact us with some screenshots via support@vsl.co.at

  • Hi, as I told you earlier, and I did that specially to avoid such advices, I've already tried to reinstall Pianos and reboot computer.

Yes I am going tobuy fast SSD. Any way this is not reason why component is not visible for DAW. Have no idea which screenshot I can provide in this case. I am familar with computers so I can run any tests if needed.

I'll try to ask support. Any way guys I assume your software is not optimized and eats too much CPU for sampler plugin.

    Cheers!

  • Somewhere need to mention that for Mac users uninstaller is visible only if go directly to Application folder. It's not visible from apps icon space. I used uninstaller and than installed Pianos again.

But.... I thought it works, but it's only Vienna Ensemble in VSL folder in the menu.

GOOD NEWS. After rebooting computer it works.

So, steps to fix this were:

    1. find and run uninstaller in Applications folder (not on icon space)

    2. install Pianos again using package file

    3. reboot computer

Now AU is visible in Logic and other DAW.

    Cheers!

  • Hi Alexandr,

Where would you place the included Uninstaller?

A picture of your Component folder would be helpful (this is where all AU components are installed on a Mac, see attached pic).

  • Usually uninstaller should be in the folder with the current app on the Launchpad. If you don't want to put it there  need to distribute app via .dmg file so users at least can find there any README file with instructions how to install/uninstall.

For now after .pkg did the job user have no idea what is installed and where except things mentioned during installation process (standalone, vst, au, etc). That's definitely point of possible improvement.
