How to delete VSL SE content after crossgrade to synchronized SE?

Hi,

recently i crossgraded from Special Edition V1+2 to the synchronized versions. On my SSD there is not space enough to have both versions simulaneously, so i want to delete (or shift) the old SE content to have enough space again to download the new synchronized edition (and maybe buy a bigger SSD later on to be able to use them both).

My Question: Can i just simple delete the content in the VSL content directory (or the whole directory) on the SSD and move/"park" it to a HHD for a while, or do i have to follow a certain process to delete it (content manager...??).

Hi Andy,

you can simple delete or move the files. In the Directory Manager you can remove the paths that are no longer available, but you can do this the next time you open the Manager.
Don't forget to add the new directories in the Manager if you move the files.

I'll jump into this thread as my question is related:

Are the Synchronized libraries always standalone? In my case, I'm thinking about ONLY using Synchronized Dimension Strings while on the road, so can I then delete the regular VI Dimension Strings from that hardrive?

Same goes for Epic Orchestra (and everything else I guess..)

Hi Rasmus, 

All our products are always available with a standalone player. And yes, all SYNCHRON-ized products are independent products, each with their own license and sample content. 

So you can keep your original VI Series files around (also to open older projects) and work with your SYNCHRON-ized product from now on, or only take the sample content you need with you on the road.
