  • Can VEP 7 always show played instance?

Hi there, really loving VEP 7.

Was wondering if there is a setting, when I play an instrument in Logic, where VEP (on the slave machone) will automatically display the instance in Kontakt I'm playing in real time? I found this to be pretty handy in VEP 6 when needing to see the keyswitches in that particular kontakt instance especially in huge templates.

    thanks!

  • Hi,

Yes, simply activate MIDI ACTIVITY FOCUS in VE Pro, this will switch VE PRO to the currently played solo'd instrument.

  • Hi,

VE Pro 7 autosaves\uploads every couple of seconds no matter what the preferences. It does this when the track is playing. Just started after updating to the latest version of Mojave.

It goes by fast, so it might be saying "Uploading Instances" instead of autosaving.

It interrupts the work flow. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

  • Thanks Paul. I activated activity focus on both my slave machines and it's not working. I tried restartig the app as well.

Are there any other settings I can try to make this work? I tried coupleing / decoupling, etc...

    cheers!

  • Hi,

@Gozzo: Sounds like that's the autosave of your sequencer. You can use th DECOUPLE mode, described in your VE PRO manual.

@passenger57: It should work. Solo the channel you want to see and VE PRO will switch to the instrument you are playing. If not, tell me the exact steps you are taking.

I have a PC and Mac Pro as my VEP slaves. Everything is decoupled. I use Microsoft Remote Desktop for the PC and Screensharing for the Mac Pro so I can see the computers from the same monitor. I have a dedicated montitor for that purpose so when I select and instrument VEP should show the instance in kontakt so I can see all my keyswitches. Usually I have to move the CC11 fader to get it to 'wake up' and appear.

Since I've installed VEP, it not longer goes to the instrument and I have to manually find it. But the little flashing midi activity lights that were added in VEP 7 are nice.
