  • Question, maybe it's answered already, but I might've read over it.

I currently have most of the instruments fully mapped in Vienna Ensemble (simple version that came with it, not the Pro). When I move to the new library, im happy to upgrade, but, can I port the existing settings/mappings to the new VSTi? It took me hours and would be very nice to be able to just import them from SE Ensemble VSTi

  • Hi SpecimanX,

The Synchron Player comes with a different approach, with a dimension tree... just working on a few walkthrough videos here. Settings and Mappings are different.

The whole SYNCHRON-ized Special Edition is now much more in-tune in many aspects, from dynamics to placement. It really is MUCH more than just the same samples in a new player... Hard to put that in words, but you will hear and feel the difference immediately.

    Best,
    Paul

Many thanks for your reply Paul. I guess I just have to do the work 😊 I mean... i wouldn't mind to do less. Then again, I have more instruments bought, and perhaps its just time to change. In the end, its fiddling around. I get myself prepared to. Thanks 😊 I cannot wait until I try it out!

  • Paul, will the Concert Light included in the new SE Vol.1 be discounted from the purchase of the Standard/Full library, as it has happened with the other instruments?

    Paolo

  • Hi Paolo,

You get 21 EUR Upgrade Discount when you upgrade from the SYNCHRON-ized Special Edition Volume 1 to the Synchron Concert D-274 (Standard and Full, same upgrade discount).

    Paul

  • Thank you very much, Paul. Very generous!

  • I've upgraded to Synchronized Special Edition and have installed everything as per usual.

When I open up the Synchron player and try to load an instrument it tells me in could not load 'x'

All my other synchron libraries work fine.

    Anyone else had this issue?

    Hi Marcus,

Try the standard procedure and update all VSL Software as well as the eLicenser Control Center, then make sure that your license is available.

  • Just downloaded and installed the Syconrized Special Editions and they sound wonderful.  however, I'm a little perplexed- while the new VL2 and Cello 2 show up in the player, I cannot find the Steinway D anywhere in my Sycron player....odd.... Anyone else having this issue?

You need the Vienna Synchron Pianos (download it from your Download section in MyVSL for free), it's like Vienna Synchron Player but specifically for pianos, I guess. Just tested it, works fine. 😉

    Hi everybody,

I found some time to do some more casual walkthrough videos for the SYNCHRON-ized Special Editions, hope you find them entertaining and informative!

More to come, as time allows!

  • Hey Paul,

I'm loving the Synchronized SEs so far, everything sounds fantastic, and the Synchron Player is sweet! One thing I noticed: I use MIRx in the VI version, and there I can select multiple positions for e.g. Triple Horn within the section (Triple Horn 1, 2, 3, and 4). In the 'synced' version there is only one IR for Triple Horn...

Are there any plans to add more positions for such instruments like Horns, Trumpets, Trombones, etc. within their dedicated sections in the near future? Or maybe just additional presets?

I guess I could do it myself with power pan and EQ, but I just don't know enough about this stuff to get the right results...

    Thanks!

  • Hi Stan,

    Glad you like it!

Our main goal was to deliver a balanced out-of the box orchestra with the orchestra, so we stuck to the essential mixer presets for now.

We're listening, and additional positions might well be included in a Library Update down the road (those take much more time than you might think). Can't promise a release date right now, but we will look into it.

    Paul

  • Thank you! Very happy to hear that!

  • Hi Paul,

I would really like a preset with a classical seating where the violin 2 is on the opposite side.
That is the only thing I miss in the Synchronized verions.

Thanks for these great libraries. I really like the Synchronized SE: they sound so natural and well balanced.
Finally the brass sounds great in my mix; they have a better out-of-the-box sound then my mixed versions with the "old" libraries.
And Synchron percussion! This should be highlighted more, they are awsome!

    Best, Ben

  • Hi Ben,

How about inverting the PowerPan in the mixer, to place the violin on the opposite side? Should work fine!

Glad you like these new versions, and I agree: the Synchron Percussion instruments in Volume 2 are really impressive!

    Best,
    Paul

I had the same question... Thank you Stan for the answer. Shouldn't this download be in the Synchron Library or Synchron Update instead of the Software Installers section ?

Thanks for the advice, will try. Still would be nice to have the matching IR for all strings in this seating 😊

  • How does Synchron-ized Special Editions compare to the VI engine in terms of CPU usage and performance? Have there been any improvements, does anybody notice any difference, especially if using a vast number of instruments? Vienna Instruments have done a marvellous job in the past at not overusing CPU and disk resources. I can easily load 3-6 articulations per instrument as separate VI instances in my setup. Can't say that about other libaries. How does Synchron Player compare in this regard?
