I am in the process of connecting Finale 26 to VSL for an orchestral project.
What I have done is this:
In the Vienna Ensemble Pro Server I have made a Metaframe consisting of 4 instances: 1= woodwinds, 2= brass, 3= percussion 4= strings (including piano and harp)
In Finale: In MIDI/Audio I have chosen Play Finale Through Audio Units. In Audio Units Banks and Effects under Instrument, I have chosen Vienna Ensemble Pro, using banks 1 through 4, and have connected to the VSL server interface, to the corresponding instances: ww/brass/perc/strings.
In Score Manager under the instrument list I have chosen Vienna Ensemble Pro for each instrument. Under Sound/Edit player I have connected the VSL server interface to the corresponding instances: ww/brass/perc/strings, and giving each instrument its right MIDI channel.
When playing back from Finale, all I hear is the woodwinds. No brass, perc or strings. I hear very instrument when I test the sounds in VSL. I guess this is a MIDI- problem, since the VSL does not read incoming MIDI signals form other than instance 1 which is woodwinds.
I am sure there is something I have overlooked or misunderstood. Anyone?
