Hi, We are also excited. The introductory price will stay for a little more time after release. Best,Paul
Thereā€™s no promo price for upgrading, is there?

  • Of course there is...

Dorico, Notion, Sibelius, StudioOne, Cubase, Staffpad VE Pro, Synchon, VI, Kontakt Win11 x64, 64GB RAM, Focusrite Scarlett 18i20, August Forster 190
  • Okay. What is it? VEP 7 page says 195 list, 145 intro for new purchase. 75 for upgrade. Is that a promo upgrade price, or standard upgrade price? If itā€™s promo, what is the upgrade price after the promo ends?

    95. It's written.

    "Upgrade Offer

The upgrade price to Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 is currently ā‚¬75 (reg. ā‚¬95) for the first license, and it includes Epic Orchestra 2.0, free of charge. Additional Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 upgrade licenses are offered at ā‚¬45 (reg. ā‚¬65) each. When you're logged in, the reduced price is automatically shown as ā€œYour Priceā€ if youā€™ve already registered Vienna Ensemble Pro 4, 5 or 6."

  • Do I have to buy all licenses at the same time or will the price be the same (45 ā‚¬) for additional licenses if I decide to get more during the introductory offer?

  • Hi info_9427,

You can purchase licenses one by one. Additional licenses can be added separately.

Will the data loss bug after using the right-delete key (in a text field, plugin, or channel) be fixed in VEPRO 7?

    ++Christian

  • Hi Christian,

Which bug is that, do you have a case number where it is reported?
Which OS, and what are the steps?

    Thanks,
    Paul

Who's going to be the first to get it? How stable are initial releases of Vienna s/w? I ask because I came in well after VEPro 6 was released so missed the initial release. Combine that with having been burned on initial releases of other s/w so you can understand why I'm wary.

  • We've had a quite extensive beta testing period of this release - so we feel confident.

No doubt you are confident but I'd like to hear from those who weren't on the beta test team. There's often problems in usability of regular features that end users find that the beta testers didn't simply because of the many differences in computer systems.

  • The application was just released. Who should be able to answer your question other then the beta-testers? :D
Here is my experience: It is so stable that I can use it on my current projects without fear of breaking something.

Glad it's stable for you. OTH it hangs when recalling .vesp files that have Native Instruments Kontakt 5 instruments in them. This message pops up in an NI-style window: 'Working on sample data cache. Please wait'. It never goes away.

Also major bummed that on a Mac we lose the ability to have both 32 and 64 bit servers - it's now Windows only. If I had known that I would never have purchased the upgrade. A major part of using VEPro is being able to use both 32 and 64 bit plugins - now I've lost that and so have all Mac users. Didn't this come up in beta testing? Hopefully VSL will fix this.

Edit for additional: email sent to support about this

Apple is making it harder and harder to support 32-bit applications, and so are various 3rd party frameworks we are relying upon. In order not to limit the 64-bit application, we thus made the decision to drop the 32-bit applications on macOS. I hope you can understand this decision.

I do NOT understand this decision. The only OSX that doesn't support 32 bit is Mojave. Every earlier OSX continues to support 32 bit no problem. How can I get my money back on this upgrade? If this had been known when VEPro 7 was announced I would never have purchased the upgrade. VEPro 7 is useless to me in this state.

  • Hi Jack,

As mentioned in the other thread, I'll get back to your support ticket right away, and we can sort this out via email.
