Hi @Paul (if I may), I suggest the following price plan: VEP7 - One license - 1-Year subscription:€129 For each additional license: €29 VEP7 - One license - Perpetual license:€ 399 For each additional license: €59 Meaning no extra charge for VEP7, VEP8, and so on (unless you increase these prices gradually though) Already own VEP 6?VEP 7 -One license - 1-Year subscription:€99 (first year only) or each additional license: € 19 Already own VEP 6?VEP 7- One license - Perpetual license:€299 For each additional license: € 39 I'm sure someone will complain anyway, but just do it! I think it's more sustainable.
It seem like we have found our PricingWierdo. Jesus, how many wierdos are here? Unless you’re 85 years old, how can you not be satisfied with getting VEP for 299+extra licenses forever with no new costs? We already have VEPro forever. Subscription s/w is a pain in the arse. I don't get why YOU think it's so great. If I didn't know better I'd think you were another Sandy @AOC (Google it). You have VEP 6 forever indeed, but today you have to pay for an upgrade every time so With a perpetual license you wouldn’t have to. There’s no reason to be skeptical about that.Having a perpetual license has NOTHING to do with not paying for upgrades. Would love to know where you got your interpretation of what a perpetual license is. No company that wants to stay in business and make a profit would follow your model.

    Oh yes, many do.

I was just suggesting a solution since 10 people have complained about the new prices.

Many do what? Follow your model? Care to tell us who they are? There's no one in music s/w that does what you're proposing. Your 'solution' makes no sense because you keep conflating having a perpetual license with not having to pay for program updates/upgrades.

FL Studio is a great example. But I don’t think VSL will change their prices because of a few complaints, but let’s see.

  • My 2 cents on this is.

Why VSL market people don't think on old users (the ones that help the company grow and pass the word on this great app) and let continue to receive the upgrades as they always received one upgrade with the 3 licenses (without the upgrade of Epic orchestra or it could be included) and only the new users that start on this boat now will have these new prices.

We are VSL users since version 3 or version 4 (we bought Cube Library)

Most of us use those 3 licenses.

I really don't like this new price tags for the old user.

  • I bought upgrade and 2 licenses of VEP7. I have the 3rd of VEP 6 left. But I did not know that while I upgraded other I will not be able to use the 6 as versions should march. I believe Vienna should rethink this and upgrade the third license for free for such users otherwise it is not a FairPlay. Because one 6 license will be left . I bought 3x 6VEP to be able to use the third computer whenever I need . Please reconsider it, because I am left with one useless license when VEP is not downward compatibilie. I HOPE THOUGH I WILL BE ABLE TO OPEN MY OLD 6 templates in the 7.

You should, it always has been the case before.

That said, if ever you save a project with 7, if it still works like before, you won't be able to reopen it with 6.

  • Does anyone know if Softube are planning to bring a Software Version of the Hardware-module „MATHS“ from „Make Noise“?

What's that got to do with the topic at hand? Well „the topic at hand“ is pretty death. We do not hear anything of the product we bought. That’s why I thought it is time to change the topic to something more interesting until someone from Vienna chimes in and and has to say something interesting ...

You've been around long enough to know that camping on a thread ain't cool. Elsewise this will really devolve into something just like a Gearslutz thread (not that it hasn't come close to that as it is).

  • „Camping on a Thread“ ... a funny Phrase from the view of a non native speaker. But you‘re probably right ... wrong topic ... wrong community for that. I don’t wanna appear to be weird(o).

That's your home ain't it? You seem just like the denizens over there - always arguing over the stupidest shite there is.

After all the shit the community has said about this upgrade, you think that is going to make them interested in commenting? The best move is to let this sit for a few months until it dies down. My guess is, they wont say anything more on this until very near launch. They certainly arent going to start answering questions, seeing how some of ya'll responded to Paul, this thread is a den of vipers and what some of ya'll have successfully done is put the lid on any details. I for one was interested in what specifically they meant by new FX were going to be incorporated into Ensemble, but ya'll were so quick to jump on that. If I were them, I wouldve just deleted this whole thread. Bunch of negative, grumpy dwarves in this thread.

I have no idea what gearslutz is, so, whatever. Keep your day job. You arent funny, and youve told the same, not funny joke, what, four times now?

That makes me sad 😞 ... so deeply sadissimo ... :((((((( I think I will pray 522 Ave Maria and hope for forgiveness. And yay - little wierd man - they probably had told us weeks ago that MATHS is only one effectplugin of many inside the magnificent 7 ... if we just had been a little nicer ... :(((( ... so sad. So much shit about the upgrade ... Forgiveness.

  • Just to add a little perspective to this... it might appear as if there’s been a massive uproar about the upgrade but remember that this thread consists of complaints from about 10 people, and some of them repeating over and over. So I don’t think Paul and Vienna is too concerned.

So says the person who came up with the stupid idea of a subscription model for VEPro.

Wow, you're still talking? The guy who doesnt understand how digital software licensing works? Wait, wait, is this the same guy who says that not purchasing a license for a software upgrade is the same as a downgrade?

Oh please, tell me more about how much of a troll I am, make fun of my username, and oh God, tell the joke AGAIN about how I came from gearslutz, because, youre a comedy genious.

For the rest of us that actually care, Im trying to figure out what we might be seeing in VEP7. We know its going to have new FX based on Vienna Suite, and we know it is not notation software.

Funny, isn't it? Shouldn't be you or me or any customer trying to figure that out.
