    @Lucy said:

I'm a bit confused about the labelling when I open the "add rack instrument" box.

I have two options for VE pro: "Vienna Ensemble Pro" with 3 dashes after it, and "Vienna Ensemble Pro x64" without any dashes.

    1. Cubase displays these 3 dashes for VST3 plugins.
    2. VE Pro installs both a x86 (32-bit) and x64 (64-bit) version of the VST2 plugin. To differentiate these two versions they have the suffix. Cubase 9+ can only open 64-bit plugins, therefore only this option is listed in your plugin list.

  • Hi Paul,

the VST2 version of the Audio Input plugin is also not showing the interface in Cubase 10. I would like to work with the VST3 version, but the bypass function ist not working as expected:
In the VST2 version bypassing works as expected, but with the VST3 version the audio signal just gets muted completly when bypassing the plugin.

Is there a way to get this fixed?

  • My first venture into VEPro and was creating a new template. After installing and working things out, I began building my first template but have had several crashes and freezes during the process and again when trying to re-load saved server projects. I am trying to build a largish orchestral template, (its not as large as some I have seen), 20x16 instances of Kontakt.  I use a recently purchased MacPro with 64GB ram and 14 dual core processors. I am watching the thread closely as I was doing OK until the update. I also bought MirPro which looked awesome but I am unable to enjoy it whilst VEPro is so unreliable.

Whats the largest number of instances of Kontakt can yoou have on VEPro6 before the computer "moans" then falls over?

    Regards

    David

  • Damn. I'm trying without success to open my templace since this morning. I did the update for both VEP 6 and Synchron Player. I went back to the previous version of VEP and it seems it solved, but now I'm still having problem, so I'll avoid the update for Synchron Player as well and hope for the best.

  • Hi Paul,

Can't load latest project without crashes after updated VE Pro.  I sent support 2 crash dumps.

    Best wishes,

    Jay

    Hi!

Thanks for all your reports, we are currentyl looking into these exceptions.

Hope to have all of this fixed early next week.

It is always safe to roll back to VE PRO 6.0.17011, you will only need to update if you want to use Synchron Power Drums within VE PRO.

Thanks for your understanding and patience!

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

I'm also having issues with a slow MIDI over LAN connection to my secondary machine (a PC). The new update is great on my main rig (Mac Pro), but the MIDI connection to the PC is all of a sudden sluggish and not working well. I'll roll back to the 6.0.17011, but a fix for this issue would be great.

    Thank you!

    Jeremy

  • so i downgraded to the earlier VEP as you suggested to others with the same issues as me, and the clicks/pops and sluggish midi connection are still occuring from the pc. Also, VEP on my main rig is now slower than it was before when i was on the 17011 update.

  • Hello everybody,

So in 90% of our support cases over the weekend it was really the software updates that didn't match.

The rest. 10%, were coincidental setup problems in the network....

If troubles persist, please contact us directly via support@vsl.co.at, with crash dumps / crash logs, reproductio steps, ideally also project files and screenshots, so we can take it from there.

    THANKS!

    Paul
